Beer Dip
  
A must have at a Wisconsin gathering!  My coworker and now friend made it for our potluck.  The first time I dunked my pretzel into this I was worried I'd get fired.  Yes, they heartily laughed at my confession.  There are a few different ways to make this.  My favorite is this:   







2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese softened
1/2 to 3/4 cup sour cream
2 packets Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning mix
1/2 to 3/4 can beer
Cheese Shred- just have fun.


For successful dip, mix just like this:

Mix cream cheese until smooth. 
 
Mix in 1/2 cup sour cream.  if it feels a little thick mix 1/4 cup more.

Mix 2 packets seasoning.

slowly, and i mean slowly add the beer.  you don't want runny beer dip!

Mix 2 cups cheese shred to start.  I like to use sharp cheddar cheese.  After I've mixed the two cups, i usually add 2 more! Then you can sprinkle some on top for show.  As my Godmother says, you can never have enough cheese!

Refrigerate for a few hours and enjoy with twist pretzels.  When desperate, a cracker will do.  Enjoy!
